F5 Networks fatura 483,7 milhões de dólares no segundo trimestre de 2016
Resultado representa um aumento de 2% em relação ao mesmo período do ano passado; em 2015, o faturamento da empresa foi de 1,92 bilhões de dólares
A F5 Networks, líder em soluções de ADN (Application Delivery Networking) – tecnologia que garante a entrega de aplicações rodando em ambiente Web – anuncia que faturou 483,7 milhões de dólares no segundo trimestre fiscal de 2016, encerrado em 31 de março. O ano fiscal da F5 Networks termina no dia 30 de setembro.
Este resultado significa um salto de 2% sobre o faturamento de $472,1 milhões do mesmo período de 2015, o que equivale a 11,6 milhões de dólares a mais. Em 2015, a F5 faturou US$ 1,92 bilhões de dólares.
De acordo com Rafael Venâncio, diretor de canais e alianças da F5 Networks Brasil e Cone Sul, diante de um cenário com difícil ambiente macro econômico, o desempenho da companhia foi satisfatório. “Conseguimos distribuir receitas dentro de nossa faixa de variação esperada ao mesmo tempo em que mantivemos uma lucratividade sólida” afirma o diretor.
O executivo também comenta que, mesmo diante desse cenário não tão favorável, as vendas de bundles de software Better/Best, Virtual Editions e serviços de assinatura Silverline aumentaram durante o trimestre. “E isso só foi possível, graças aos clientes continuarem a demonstrar interesses por nossas estratégias híbridas e se aventurarem em nuvens públicas e privadas”, explica.
Para o futuro
Venâncio conta, ainda, que para o trimestre com término em 30 de junho de 2016, a empresa estabeleceu uma meta de receita de USD 490 milhões a USD 500 milhões, com meta de lucros GAAP de USD 1,29 a USD 1,32 por ação diluída e uma meta de lucros não GAAP de USD 1,77 a USD 1,80 por ação diluída.
Para alcançar essa meta, o porta-voz da empresa no Brasil avisa que neste trimestre, a F5 Networks começará a distribuir seus novos blades VIPRION de 100Gb, que oferecerão desempenho e escalabilidade massivos para ajudar os provedores de serviços a administrarem e proporcionarem segurança ao volume exponencialmente crescente de tráfego wireless. “Estamos bastante entusiasmados, pois vários provedores de serviços Tier 1 vêm testando os novos blades e nos dando um feedback muito positivo.
Outro ponto muito positivo para a F5 atingir essa nova meta de U$ 500 milhões é que neste trimestre, ela lançará a versão 5.0 da plataforma de gerenciamento BIG-IQ. “Essa versão vai contar com grandes aprimoramentos que incluem o gerenciamento centralizado de todos os nossos produtos de Segurança”.
Lucro GAAP x Não GAAP
A receita líquida GAAP foi de USD 75,4 milhões (USD 1,11 por ação diluída), em comparação com USD 85,7 milhões (USD 1,18 por ação diluída) no segundo trimestre do ano anterior. Esse resultado reflete o veredicto do júri e outros custos associados àquele litígio acerca de patente durante o trimestre.
Excluindo-se o impacto dessa despesa referente ao litígio sobre patente, de compensação baseada em ações e de amortização de patrimônio intangível adquirido, o rendimento líquido não GAAP foi de USD 114,0 milhões (USD 1,68 por ação diluída), em comparação com USD 115,3 milhões (USD 1,59 por ação diluída) no segundo trimestre do ano passado.

Share Repurchase Program
The company also announced today that its board of directors had authorized an additional $1 billion for the company‘s common stock share repurchase program. This new authorization is incremental to the $73.8 million currently unused in the existing program which was initially authorized in October 2010.
Acquisitions for the share repurchase program will be made from time to time in private transactions or open market purchases as permitted by securities laws and other legal requirements. The timing and amounts of any purchases will be based on market conditions and other factors including but not limited to price, regulatory requirements and capital availability. The program does not require the purchase of any minimum number of shares and the program may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time.

GAAP to non-GAAP Reconciliation
F5‘s management evaluates and makes operating decisions using various operating measures. These measures are generally based on the revenues of its products, services operations and certain costs of those operations, such as cost of revenues, research and development, sales and marketing and general and administrative expenses. One such measure is net income excluding stock-based compensation, amortization of purchased intangible assets and acquisition-related charges, net of taxes, which is a non-GAAP financial measure under Section 101 of Regulation G under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended. This measure consists of GAAP net income excluding, as applicable, stock-based compensation, amortization of purchased intangible assets and acquisition-related charges.
